Black Friday Special at David Fuller Karate

November 21, 2012

I love the idea of gifting an experience for Holiday and Birthday gifts. My kids are students at David Fuller Karate in West Chester and I can’t even begin to put into words what the experience of working with Master Fuller and Miss Stephanie, has done for my 5 year old son behavior and my 7 year old daughters confidence. I am without a doubt one of the biggest David Fuller Karate cheerleaders, so if you are thinking about karate for your child and have questions feel free to email me, I promise not to chat your ear off about the program, but I am a big believer!!

SO… with all of that being said,  when this deal popped up in my inbox, I thought I would share.

David Fuller Karate Black Friday New Student Special
2 months of Karate and a Uniform for $59.. that is a 70% off value.
The first 10 new students to register will also receive a FREE party at David Fuller Karate for the new student AND 15 of their friends (this is a $179 value).

Take a Hayride to the Witch’s House!

October 3, 2012

A Hayride to the Witch’s House is a fun, family oriented activity hosted by Linvilla Orchards, beginning October 5th. A hayride through the orchards takes you to the Witches House. Linvilla’s witch will charm kids by handing out treats and telling stories. Then everyone can sit by a bonfire, toast marshmallows, and drink fresh apple cider. There are no scares. The hayride is not haunted, it’s especially designed for younger children. You won’t have to wait very long to board a haywagon; multiple wagons run consistently during peak hours. The cost is $8 per person and is a perfect way to get into the Halloween spirit. After your ride, treat yourself to all the ongoing Pumpkinland activities. Get inspired by the jack-o-lantern exhibit and pick up some pumpkins to carve at home with the kids. Enjoy all the mystery and lore of the season with family and friends at Linvilla Orchards.

Linvilla Orchards is a 300-acre family farm dedicated to agriculture, education and entertainment, and is located at 137 West Knowlton Road, in Media, PA. Call 610-876-7116 or visit http://www.Linvilla.com.

Where: Linvilla Orchards 137 West Knowlton Road, Media, PA

When: October 5th-7th and 12th-30th 5:30pm to 8pm (Fridays and Saturdays till 8:30pm)

Fermentation Festival – Kennett Square, PA

September 27, 2012

Kennett Square is known for many things: Mushrooms, a fun downtown, Longwood Gardens and great places to eat. One thing Kennett Square does well is FESTIVALS. From The Mushroom Festival to The Kennett Brewfest, there are so many fun events to look forward to.  KSQ pulls out all the stops and makes itself a hot spot to worth traveling to!

This Saturday is the annual Brewfest, a large gathering of craft brewers with samples of their wares. Unfortunately, if you don’t have a ticket, you will not be able to attend. This event sells out FAST, and tickets are limited (but oh, so worth it).

LUCKILY,  we have good news: there is a fun event the day prior to the Brewfest absolutely worth making the drive for. In keeping with the theme of brewing, Kennett Square hosts the Fermentation Festival

Fermentation, if you aren’t aware, is a key part of the brewing process. But it goes far beyond beer! Fermented foods and beverages (such as beer, wine, yogurt, olives, breads, cheese, saurkraut, kefir, and kombucha, to name a few) helps improve digestion, restores proper bacteria to the gut, and improves the ability to absorb nutrients. For the food, fermentation increases flavor and preserves food longer.

The Fermentation Festival will happen in conjunction with the Farmer’s Market from 2pm-6pm on Friday, September 28th in the Genesis Alleyway (101 East State Street).  There will be samples of food, how-to demonstrations, live music, children’s activities, and more. SO fun!

Our region is rich in great fermented food. Have you ever wondered who produces it?  Well you can if you attend the Meet the Makers Happy Hour from 4:30pm – 8pm in Sycamore Alley (next to La Verona, 114 East State Street). Tickets are $10. The Happy Hour will feature artisanal cheeses, wine, spirits, craft beer and hard cider.

Make a night of it!

Enjoy yoga as a family for only $25!

September 7, 2012

The enjoyment and benefits of yoga should not be cost prohibitive to families during this economy, or ever.

Celebrating our new space AND lower pricing.

The space is expansive and relaxing, with the fun of club lighting for more upbeat power classes and a great sound system! Kids classes in large youth party rooms at the same time mom or dad is taking yoga, or, feel free to just drop kiddo’s off if yoga isn’t your thing.

We worked hard toward the goal of creating a yoga experience that will allow more people to enjoy yoga and we succeeded!
Although our new lower pricing is “community” focused, at just $35 a month for unlimited six months, (with a family plan also) we wanted this kick off to be even more budget friendly for today’s family in this economy.

So, for a few days in September and for $25, enjoy yoga as a family of four (kids classes are Sat mornings).. the price is almost as low as ONE class, but people can come to M, T, W night or W morning or Sat Morning with a kids class S also …at Caln Rink!
OR
$100 for four months for an individual (new clients-bring your child *age 5 -14* FREE to Saturday classes!)
**Children 15 & Up, fee as individual or use the “couple” plan…ages 15 and up may attend ANY of the classes
Once you grab the deal, go to “Schedule” link and start registering for classes!

Get ready for our annual “Boo-Asana Challange” where you’ll keep a log of activity and eating to assure yourself of being  frighteningly healthy into those winter months! Fun!
