This past Saturday I had the pleasure of sneaking away for a gorgeous sunny day in New York City to attend Getting Gorgeous with Degree. I had planned to make the trip with several other Philly Social Media Moms driving Chevy cars provided by Bryner Chevrolet in Jenkintown and coordinated by the divine Jo-Lynne Shane, but a sick child thwarted those plans. I was pleased that my daughter was stable enough on Saturday morning for me to go to the event, so I hopped the train in Trenton, NJ with my good friend Melissa from All Things Chic.
Melissa and I had a lovely train ride, and were excited when some other friends from Philly Social Media Moms ended up in our train car. It was fun to catch up with everyone and relax without needing to be on call with the kids all day. The ride went by quickly and soon we were ready to get gorgeous!
As we walked into the event space at the Metropolitan Pavilion, I could feel the energy of the bloggers in the room, and knew it was going to be a great day. But, I already knew that….. Once you’ve met Audrey and Vera, the masterminds of Getting Gorgeous, you want to go to any event that they expertly put together. They are amazing entrepreneurs and social media professionals, but more importantly, you’ll be drawn to their warm demeanors and their big hearts and smiles.

Before I could even start making my way around the room to start having meaningful conversations with all of the wonderful event sponsors that were gathered, I quickly scanned the room and saw so many friends that I had to see first. There was a large contingent of bloggers from Philadelphia at the event that I got to see as well as many other national bloggers that I was happy to see again or meet for the first time! It is such a great feeling to be surrounded by such talented, energetic, focused, savvy women.
Sometimes in life, you know that you are introduced to people for a reason. While I don’t get to see Tara as often as I (or my 3 year old for that matter!) would like, I feel a strong spiritual connection to her and I was elated that she was at Getting Gorgeous too! Once I was able to give her a big hug and catch up for a bit, I couldn’t wait to circulate around the room to see what this Getting Gorgeous event was all about.
