Tyler Arboretum, the official local partner of National Public Gardens Day, joins Longwood Gardens, the Morris Arboretum and 500+ public gardens across the nation in a day that recognizes public gardens and their important role in educating the public on environmental preservation through plant and water conservation. Presented by the non-profit American Public Garden’s Association (APGA) in partnership with Rain Bird, the nation’s public gardens will mark the day with special events and activities for families to explore and discover their local public gardens, while learning about each garden’s commitment to education, research and environmental stewardship.

At Tyler Arboretum, visitors are invited on Friday and Saturday to celebrate. Admission to the Arboretum is free on Friday, May 6, with a National Public Gardens Day coupon, from the May issue of Better Homes and Gardens, or download your coupon good for two free admissions from http://www.bhg.com/. Special, interactive programs designed for family fun will take place on both days, and include: Children’s Activity Stations, Tree House Scavenger Hunts, and Bluebird and Pond Discovery Stations.
