Available TODAY! The Digital Mom Handbook: How to Blog, Vlog, Tweet, and Facebook Your Way to a Dream Career at Home

July 26, 2011
Mothers have been looking for the middle ground for more than half a century. Staying at home and raising the kids full-time isn’t it. Working full-time and rushing home to tuck the kids in at 7 p.m. sharp ain’t it either. Even part-time work outside the house can be a scramble for most women, as they try to “have it all” between 9 am and 5 pm. To work or not to work? That seems to be the bottom-line question for most women today.

Colleen Padilla and Audrey McClelland, Authors of “The Digital Mom Handbook” believe that equation is changing. In fact, both women are living proof of that change. They are sharing their tips and tricks by writing this book and honestly believe that other moms can do the same. Audrey and Colleen have literally Skyped, blogged, vlogged, tweeted, and Facebooked their way to the top—and in this eye-opening book they show other moms how to find success through these seven basic steps:

1. Find your passion.
2. Hang a digital “shingle” and start typing.
3. Find your tribe.
4. Make opportunity knock and learn how to answer that door.
5. Manage the Benjamins.
6. Don’t forget the children!
7. Live happily ever after by living your values.

Feelin’ Hot, Hot, Hot!

July 8, 2010

Hi everyone, it’s Sarah reporting to you from beautiful Scottsdale, AZ.

I am a blogger turned weather girl this week as I am obsessed with how hot it is in Scottsdale. It is currently 7:00am here and already 90 degrees. It’s supposed to reach 106 by mid day. This is my first visit to Arizona and everyone that I have talked to says that 106 here isn’t as bad as it sounds because it is a “dry heat” with no humidity. We’ll see about that….I will say, so far, not too bad, but then again it is only 7:00am local time.

I flew out of Philadelphia yesterday so I could meet up with other bloggers and visit the Thermador Gallery & Testing Kitchen and learn all about the new stream-convection combo oven. That is right…steam and convection all in one oven! A bakers dream come true!!!

Last night our group all went to dinner at Mastro’s City Hall. It was delicious! I had a sizzling hot filet mignon and one of the best pieces of chocolate cake that I have ever tasted. I am a big fan of the chocolate cake and take it very seriously. Mastro’s City Hall gets an A+ from me!

Today I am headed to the Thermador Gallery & Test Kitchen for a super fun filled day of hands on culinary training, a tour of the facility and lots of delicious food.

Stay tuned for more as I report live from Scottsdale and follow along with me and the other bloggers at this event on Twitter. #steamythermador.

Try MobiStories on your PC Today! (FREE Download Code)

June 23, 2010

Last week Shannon and I had the pleasure of co-hosting a super fun morning play date with Beth from Role Mommy, Colleen from Classy Mommy ,Whitney from Mommies With Style and special guests Wendy & Rick Toone and Chris Kennedy from MobiStories (MobiStories.com), award-winning digital children’s books.

MobiStories creates digital, interactive books from original published works are available as iTunes applications as well as in downloadable flash format for Mac and PC home computers.

Our kiddos had the opportunity to test out the brand new addition to the MobiStories product line, The Marvelous Toy. This book is geared for 4 to 8 year old children, and our 5 year olds LOVED it. It is a wonderfully illustrated work, set to a beautiful folk song from the 60’s. We really enjoyed the story line and the magic of a little boy playing with the mysterious toy and then passing that same toy down to his son to enjoy!

We also have toddlers that aren’t in the target age range for this book, and they loved it too. For them, it was more about listening to the song and also clicking through the interactive features of the book (the house lights click on and off, the kitty cat meows, etc.).

MobiStories books are available in a variety of age ranges and themes and are available for for various technology platforms. You’ll definitely want to check them out, so we have this special offer for our readers.

We are offering both the Summer puzzle book AND Celebrating Michelle Obama books for FREE download to your PC when you use code RTW0710. The code should be redeemed at the mobistoies.com website. Here’s a how-to video as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3z1pxE872OM

Enjoy the wonderful experience of a MobiStories book with your children today!

Take a sneak peek at the fabulous bags o swag for Baby Shower Extravaganza

June 22, 2010

We spent Monday afternoon stuffing “bags o swag” and getting ready for Baby Shower Extravaganza, this Thursday night with Colleen from Classy Mommy and Whitney from Mommies With Style. We are REALLY excited about this event and look forward to meeting all of our guests. This event is “sold out”, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have a “su-prise” or two in store for our Chesco Moms to be that can’t make it to the event…stay tuned!

There is a lot more stuff going into these bags o swag that didn’t make the video…like lots and lots and lots of coupons from both National Brands and local compaies. We actually had so much stuff that each mom is now going home with one of the Johnson & Johnson bags that you saw on the video AND another bag courtesy of Similac.

If you were paying attention to the video..you heard Colleen mention that EACH of the 50 moms attending Baby Shower Extravaganza is leaving the event with a care package from Huggies. How cool is that?

More fun su-prises to come….Baby Shower Extravaganza…Woo-hoo!
