19th Annual Parkway Dash 4 Diabetes – Register to Dash or Volunteer Today!

March 22, 2013

There is no known cure for diabetes, which is a chronic disease that afflicts 1 in 10 Americans. The Chester County Hospital believes education is the most important component to managing diabetes. Take a step in the right direction and support The Diabetes Self Management Program at The Chester County Hospital by participating in the 19th Annual Parkway Dash 4 Diabetes. The competitive 5K run and leisurely 2.5K walk, presented by Parkway, starts at the Chester County Justice Center on April 6 at 2:30 PM and travels through the beautiful West Chester Borough. The registration fee for the Dash is $25. To register or for more information, visit http://www.ChesterCountyHospital.org and search “Dash.” Registration is also available day-of the event.

As many as 1 in 3 U.S. adults could have diabetes by 2050 if current trends continue, according to a new analysis from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Diabetes is an exploding problem approaching epidemic status in our society. The best way to manage diabetes and the medical costs associated with treatment is through education. The Chester County Hospital is proud to offer the most comprehensive Diabetes Self Management Program in our region. Unfortunately, as the number of our friends and families diagnosed with diabetes is on the rise, charitable funding for this important initiative becomes scarcer.

The annual Parkway Dash 4 Diabetes 5K Run/ 2.5K Walk is a fun and healthy family event and a major source of funding for the program. Every runner, every walker, every volunteer makes a difference.

Make a Difference. Don’t Become A Statistic.
