Purex Complete with Zout

I have two boys, three if you count my husband. And boys being boys get d.i.r.t.y! I swear my son can just look outside and he gets some type of stain on his clothing. So getting the opportunity to review the new Purex Complete with Zout to fight stains is definitely something I can put to the test in my house!

I recently put the new Purex Complete with Zout to the test with my youngest sons crib sheets. It may not seem like much, but somehow he manages to make all his sheets terribly dingy. From runny to bloody noses, to exploding morning diapers and teething drool, this kid just makes a mess where ever he is. I guess that is the prerogative of a younger sibling – make your mark however you can! After using the Purex Complete with Zout, the sheets were definitely brighter and whiter and ready for whatever my son has in store for them next.

Fragrances
Purex Complete with Zout comes in both Fresh Morning Burst which has a light and fresh scent as well as a Free and Clear fragrance free bottle for use on sensitive skin. We tested the Fresh Morning Burst and I was really loving the scent all throughout the day. I think it might have been mid-afternoon and I could still smell the fresh scent on my sweatshirt!

How to use Purex Complete with Zout
If you are using for general washing, just measure and pour in the washer as you normally would. If you have extra tough stains you are attempting to wash out, just add Purex Complete with Zout to the stain site, and continue your usual washing routine. There are three different enzymes that work against tough stains, including: blood, grass, chocolate, tomato sauce, ice cream and BBQ sauce.

Pricing varies but most retailers will carry Purex Complete with Zout from 3.49 to 7.99. You can find Purex at national retailers such as Target and Walmart by the end of March.

Purex Complete Crystals Softeners – Review

I was recently accepted to be a Purex Insider, which means I got a sneak peak at the new line of fabric softeners called Purex^® Complete Crystals^TM Softener.

I must admit, I really do not give fabric softeners much thought. Odd, since it seems I am always doing a load of laundry with an almost one year old boy and a just turned 2 1/2 year old boy.  Constantly keeping the peace in the house as my older son tries to step on steal a toy from my younger son, I tend to be lucky to get the detergent in the washer drum, I just do not have time to measure out softener to fill in the dispenser.  Geez, that sounds so lazy!  I suppose that boys being boys they just get messy, which means I get messy and then yet another load of laundry is tossed in the machine.   I am outnumbered and I should really make friends with some better products on the market so I smell a bit more fresh and hopefully reduce my footprint on this earth with all the laundry loads I do!

What is this new fabric softener all about?
Purex^® Complete Crystals^TM are just that, crystals. And unlike traditional fabric softeners where you pour the liquid into a dispenser, the crystals are poured directly into the washing tub itself.  Wow – one thing in my life that has no mess, no spills and smells nice to boot!  To the right, you can see some of the highlights of Purex^® Complete Crystals^TM.

I was provided the Fresh Spring Waters scent and I was actually excited to do my next load of laundry!     I have sensitive skin, so I tend to be a zero-to-light fragrance type person.  I was very happy that the crystals did not have an overwhelming scent to them.   Also, they are 92% natural and NOT oil based, which means that I felt comfortable using them in the laundry with the boys clothing.  I also like that using this product does not negate the fire-retardant treatment in both my kids clothing.  After all, what is the use of having the fire protection on clothing if your softener impacts its effectiveness?

Additionally, my Hubs is at the gym 5 mornings a week, and his sweaty clothes sit in a gym bag (ew) while he is at work. Most of his clothes  tend to have wicking properties to keep him dry while working out, which I just learned is something that traditional softeners degrade while the Purex^® Complete Crystals^TM Softener does not inhibit.    I am definitely crystals with his clothes, not only to keep his clothing working properly but also to help keep that gym bag of sweaty clothes a little more fresh smelling!

Purex^® Complete Crystals^TM Softener officially went on sale on December 28th at Walmart.  Other retailers will begin carrying the products in January and February.
