Introducing 3 Lil Doodlebugs and Chesco Mom Jodi

January 26, 2011

I had the pleasure of doing a product review for a fantastically talented crocheting mom from 3 Lil Doodlebugs. I’ve done product reviews in the past, and I always state my own unabridged opinion, but the hats made for my two little bears are absolutely adorable. I never really thought of my boys wearing crocheted hats, it seemed more like a cute accessory for girls. These hats have completely changed my thoughts on the matter. Read on to see why!

The Hats
Jodi originally asked if I had anything special in mind for the hats, or any preference for colors. Since all her creations are custom, I really had a blank slate to work with and I was completely clueless. Jodi recommended going with something that had colors to compliment the boys winter coats (both blue). I also provided my boys ages and she went to town designing our custom hats.

Bbear’s Hat (age 1)
My younger son’s hat is a soft baby blue, just like my gentle little man. The bright blues that Jodi selected were so vibrant they make his already blue eyes just sparkle. He looks so adorable I am preparing myself for a stranger to squeeze his cheeks while we are out and about! His hat is sized 2T-4T and fits Bbear perfectly, but Cbear also has decided he would like to wear it and the hat still fits!

Cbear’s Hat (age 2.5)
My older son has grown into being that “typical boy”. He wants to run, jump and just generally be active. He loves the outdoors, so during these cold months we put our outdoor slide in the unheated sunroom for those days when he just needs to burn off some energy. Cbear insisted on wearing his new owl earflap hat. I mean, insisted! Even in the cold, he must have played on that slide for a good half hour stopping every now and then to pose in his owl hat.

Wear and Tear
Of course, like any good preschool-aged boy, Cbear gets into his fair share of messes. On a day when he decided to wear the light blue hat, Cbear also decided it was a good day to dig in the snow and find a mud puddle. Once found, it was all to temping to pour mud on top of his brother’s hat. Lovely. I was so upset and was hoping that the pretty blue hat was not tarnished. I’m happy to report that not only did the mud come out of the hat in the washer, that the hat also washed very well. No pulls, no fraying – it came out exactly as it went in (well, sans mud of course!).

The 3 Lil Doodlebugs Guarantee
Jodi guarantees all of her work. So, if a size isn’t quite right or the colors aren’t what you were hoping for, just let Jodi know.

The Mom Behind 3 Lil Doodlebugs
Jodi is the mother of 3 amazing children and the lucky wife of a wonderful man. She lives in Chester County, is a chiropractor in Kennett Square, PA with a family wellness practice, and has always loved to craft (sew, scrapbook, needlework, etc.). She found her true crafting love when she learned to crochet. Jodi takes a project with her everywhere and actually looks forward to long car rides because it will gives her lots of time crochet.

*I was provided two crocheted hats to facilitate this review. No other compensation was received for this product review. All opinions expressed are my own.
