The evening will feature local foods, including seasonal dishes by local chefs, kids¹ relay games, square dancing and live music by local musicians Dave Weber and Ted the Fiddler, as well as an opportunity to meet the people who grow and make many of our region¹s foods. Kids under age 12 are FREE
Trust board member Jim Moore and his wife Joan are making Marshlands, a 550-acre property, available for the supper. The property features a swamp and marsh habitats that are home to more than 200 species of flowering plants and 155 species of birds, including threatened and endangered species. Families are encouraged to experience Marshlands by coming at 4:00
for pre-supper activities including pond fishing for kids, canoeing, a guided marsh walk and historic farmhouse tour. Registration for pre-supper activities is $10 for adults, $5 for children (children under age 12 are free)
The event features two raffles: cash and local foods with a first prize of $500, second prize of local steer ($400 value), third prize basket of local foods ($200 value); and Marshlands small game hunting for two with lunch.
