The event is free. Suggested donation is $1 for children (under age 12) and $3 for adults.
The program will take place in the historic cast house, located in the village at Hopewell Furnace. Visitors are asked to arrive no later than 7 p.m., park in the main parking lot, and from there a guide will walk you down to the cast house.
A cart will be available for those who need assistance.
Visitors are encouraged to bring a flashlight and to dress for the weather as there is no heat in the cast house.
Adams will begin speaking at 7:15 p.m. The talk will last approximately one hour, with a short question-and-answer period afterward.
Charles J. Adams III is the author of several books including three books titled “Ghost Stories of Berks County.” In addition to his books, he writes “travel and local legends” articles for the Reading Eagle newspaper.
Visitors will be able to purchase some of the many books that Charles Adams has written.
A bake sale and “guess the weight of the pumpkin” contest will be sponsored by the Friends of Hopewell. Proceeds from this event will go directly to the Friends group to help support the park.
