My sons have yet to really experience the magic of playing with molding dough. Really, I’m the hesitant one because I just don’t feel like scraping it from the fabric of the chairs, or the floor and walls. So, when I was asked if I wanted to check out Moon Dough Magic Zoo, I took that as a cue that this is our time to test out the magic of creating.
The product literature claims that the moon dough is “soft and marshmallow-like and best of all- it never dries out, is wheat-free and hypo-allergenic”. We played with this for a good 45 minutes and I did notice that the dough never changed its consistency. It was also so easy to use and if any fell, clean up was as simple as using some of the dough to pick up what may have fallen.
We did find that our mold did not seem to want to open after being cranked down onto the feet. I think we were over stuffing, but rather than interrupting my son, I just let him play and I took the molds out for him. I have tried it myself since and it the animal mold does wind up the feet, open and walk. In either instance, my boys were both very amused by the cast of zoo animals lining up on our kitchen island!
Storage was easy too, I just replaced the dough in the 3 plastic sandwich bags to the colors separate and we were good to go!
You can buy Moon Dough at many local stores. Check out the list of stores on the Moon Dough website here.
