Yo Baby Yogurt: Review and Giveaway

Do you have a picky eating toddler? If so, I wholeheartedly feel your pain. I deal day in and day out with a little man that just wont eat well. Crackers, cakes, cookies – of these these yummy treats he is a HUGE fan, but healthy eating is just downright painful with him. I find myself slurping my long noodles (a habit I am sure will end up costing me many mealtime battles to rectify in the future) just to get him to eat something at dinner. I admit, some days I just give in and it is crackers all day long. I suppose all you can do is try with the delicate toddler palate.

I was so happy to try out yogurt again. Cbear was very much a fan of Yo Baby Yogurt when he was a newbie to eating solid foods. When he turned 1, yes ONE, is when the picky eating began. Now that we have a 7 month old in our house, and Yo Baby Yogurts are once again gracing our shelves, I thought, why not give it another go? Timing couldn’t be more perfect as HAPPY BABY FOODS (see my review here) provided coupons for free trials of their products as well as Yo Baby Yogurt. So, into the yogurt world we go again!

THE TESTERS
Cbear: 26 month old finicky toddler
Yogi, Yogi, Yogi… Yo-Yo… this is all I hear now. Cbear is HUGE FAN of Yo Toddler Yogurt! Whew! I still cannot get the kid to eat any of our grown up meals, but I can always have a nutritious yogurt on hand for him!

The littlest bear took a bit more convincing (no worries on wasted food – this was one food that Cbear did not mind eating leftovers). Although, that has pretty much been his way of all new foods he has tried.

HAPPYBABY Foods: Review and Win it Wednesday Giveaway

My littlest bear, Bbear, is growing up so fast – where does the time go? He’s 6 months old and has messily entered the world of solid foods.

Bbear didn’t take to eating his stage 1 foods as vigorously as his big brother, but after a few tries he really got into his new food endeavor. Like most moms, I’ve generally stayed with the name brand baby food jars you see in the grocery stores. I’ve been intrigued with the idea of organic food, especially for my children, but had not taken that leap. Then I was asked by HAPPYBABY to try out their line of foods for infants and toddlers. I was so excited for the opportunity to do so, and to give my littlest bear some yummy organic foods.

We started out with the HAPPYBABY Stage 2 pouch of food in Spinach, Mango and Pear flavor, and I added in some Organic Oatmeal cereal. I really wasn’t sure what he would think as he had not had a mix of flavors in baby food at this point. HE LOVED IT! He actually cried when I finished the pouch of food. And my picky older son, Cbear, even let me squeeze what little bit was leftover in the pouch directly into his mouth. I can’t wait to start the puffs with little Bbear and see what he thinks!

With both of my sons, I also worry about how the food is processed or packaged as we have the dreaded nut allergy in my family. At 2, Cbear is not really able to tell me if his throat is scratchy or if he’s not feeling well after eating, which makes me constantly nervous and checking on what is in the few food items he will eat. HAPPYBABY foods has a great food chart to reference for allergies which has me completely excited about safely feeding both my little bears these organic foods!

I am making a trip to buy some of the toddler products this week for Cbear. I’m hopeful he continues to be intrigued with HAPPYBABY foods and that I can not only open him up to something other than Mac ‘n Cheese, but that I can also provide him some healthy options to eat.
