Social Media for the Chester County Mom

March 23, 2012

Facebook. Twitter. Pinterest. Youtube. Blogs.

Everyone wants to be connected, but many are uncertain how certain social media outlets benefit them.  Some might even be intimidated by the process of figuring out how things like Twitter or Pinterest work.  But there are so many awesome benefits for Moms in these social media realms, it’s just a matter of understanding them.

We will be hosting a Social Media for Moms class in the near future.  The time together will be casual discussion (hopefully with tasty treats involved). We’ll talk all about how Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest and blogs can be great tools for parents. We’ll explain how to get started, and what new ways to use them.

Would you be interested in joining us?  Let us know! Fill our the form below to have all the latest info on our upcoming class.

Frugal Finds Friday: Real Deal on Twitter, Part 2

August 21, 2009

After telling you about Twitter, the micro-blogging online social media tool, I wanted to share stories of real people who use it to save money every day. Instead, I found more who share as many and more deals than they can even use themselves.

After putting my request out to the blogsphere, one person who answered me back was Nicole Wiseberg of Nicole’s Nickels (or www.nicolesnickels.com). Nicole told me that she reads over 150 money saving blogs daily, searching for deals to write about on her blog and post on Twitter throughout the day.

“Tweets automatically go out when I post [a new entry] on my blog. I have received emails from readers who found me through these tweets and I have definitely used this tool as a wonderful medium to increase awareness about my blog and make it easier for readers to find my awesome deals,” shares Nicole.

Why Would I Use Twitter? Part 1

August 7, 2009

Twitter is showing up everywhere and if you haven’t heard of the micro-blogging site by now, you may be one tweet behind the times. Even Hillary Clinton admitted this summer, “I don’t know a twitter from a tweeter, but apparently it is important.” She was referring to it’s use in the Iranian elections when the government attempted to squelch every other form of communication. Hundreds of first-hand observers found a way to connect through the mini-messaging service.

Twitter started out as an online social media tool which connected friends and acquaintances through short messages of 140 characters or less. The program has grown to over 7 million users in little over two years. Though many users don’t return once they start an account, many more are catching on to it’s usefulness as a free tool and economic way of advertising and connecting with others in their industry and around the world.
